John brings over 7 years of experince as a first responder with another 7 years served in the Oregon National Guard as an Infantryman. As our current Training Officer, he leads and manages the training programs for all personnel, ensuring they are prepared and qualified for the field. In addition to his role as Training Officer, John actively responds to incidents as an Engineer/EMT. His qualifications span a broad range of specialties, including fire suppression, emergency medical services, emergency services instructor, hazardous materials, apparatus operator, rescue, and leadership.

Outside his primary duties, John serves as a Volunteer Lieutenant/EMT with the Sutherlin Fire Department and teaches EMT skills at Umpqua Community College. He is also pursuing his Paramedic license at UCC, further advancing his expertise and commitment to public safety.
