JP relocated to Oregon in February 2022 to care for his elderly parents, bringing with him a wealth of experience and dedication to public service. He joined the Tenmile Rural Fire District to continue his commitment to the community following an illustrious firefighting career in California.

JP’s career in the fire service began in 1979 with Cal Fire at the Santa Clara Ranger Unit. After three years, he transitioned to the San Jose Fire Department, where he served with distinction for over 28 years. JP retired as a Captain in 2011, having earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues and the community.

Outside of his professional life, JP enjoys a variety of hobbies, including fishing, dirt bike riding, traveling, and pursuing his passion for small-scale farming as a gentleman farmer.
